'Dancing With the Stars': Sherri Shepherd denies practicing early

sherri-shepherd-dancing-with-the-stars.jpg"Dancing With the Stars" premieres on Monday, March 19, and there is already a controversy. Radar Online claims that celebrity contestant Sherri Shepherd started practicing dance with Maksim Chmerkovskiy back in December, which is against the rules. Contestants are not allowed to start dancing with their partners until after the casting is announced. The Season 14 contestants were made public on February 28.

Shepherd denied the allegations on "The View" where she is a co-host, beginning with the fact that she isn't even paired with Maksim. She'll be dancing with his brother, Val Chmerkovskiy. She says, We have never, I say never, we've never danced together. I've never danced with Maks. I've never danced with Val."

She admits to taking dance classes at Maksim's studio but says, "This started long before I started negotiations with 'Dancing With the Stars.'" She says she loves to dance and has even taken a pole dancing class in the past. Sherri, we look forward to chatting with you on the red carpet after the show. Stay tuned to Zap2it after each taping for news straight from the dancers themselves.
