'Dancing With the Stars': Valerie Harper receives standing ovations, moves everyone to tears
Valerie and Tristan - Foxtrot - Dancing with... by televisionpromos
Valerie Harper, legendary television star and recent battler of brain cancer, is sure to be a favorite on "Dancing With the Stars" this season -- the audience gave her a standing ovation before she danced -- will it be warranted?
For her debut dance, Harper and partner Tristan Macmanus did a fox trot and it turns out Ms. Harper is quite light on her feet. It's nice that the scads of votes she's bound to get won't be completely sentimental.
"It's good to be alive and it's even better to be dancing," says Valerie, after her performance and another standing ovation.
The judges were very complimentary while still offering some constructive criticism.
"You were radiant ... you move very, very well, you're light on your feet. ... Hold your balance a bit more," says Bruno. "Thank you for being on our show. ... You brought me to tears with your courage," says Carrie Ann. "It was understated, there was an ease and an elegance to it. It wasn't forced. ... Beautifully done," says Len.
She received three 7s for a total of 21. What did you think, "DWTS" fans?
