Debbie Reynolds as Plum's Grandma Mazur: Yea or nay?

Screen legend Debbie Reynolds has been cast as Grandma Mazur in "One for the Money" opposite Katherine Heigl, r eports Deadline.

In the first installment of Janet Evanovich's popular novels, Grandma Mazur is the sassy, young-at-heart and gun-shooting maternal grandmother of protagonist Stephanie Plum (Heigl), who's fallen on hard times and turned to bounty hunting.

One one hand, we're not entirely sure about the physical resemblance between the tall and skinny Grandma Mazur and the 78-year-old Oscar nominee, who's rather short and squat. Physically, Carol Burnett probably would have fit our vision better, but of course she's busy guest starring on "Glee." Well, with the casting of Heigl, it's apparent that the filmmakers aren't as married to the physical similarities to characters in the novel

On the other hand, Reynolds can play spunky and irreverent well, and if we're going with the spirit of Grandma Mazur -- who could be described as a "pistol" -- then Reynolds isn't a horrible choice.

Then again, there's always fan favorite Betty White.

Joining Heigl and Reynolds are Sherri Shepherd (Lula) Jason O'Mara (Morelli), Daniel Sunjata (Ranger), John Leguizamo (Jimmy Alpha) and Patrick Fischler (Vinnie Plum) in the "Money" cast.
