Deion Sanders Jr. may have gotten himself and some football teammates at Southern Methodist University in trouble when the guys partied backstage with Lil' Wayne last Saturday (Aug. 17). Reports indicate that this might constitute an NCAA violation.

It will probably all turn out okay for the younger Deion Sanders. That's because his famous father has pointed out that the Lil' Wayne visit had nothing to do with college football and everything to do with dad's connections. As it turns out, Deion Sanders and Lil' Wayne are friends.

For its part, SMU denies that the NCAA is involved in anything at this point. An official from the school told NBC Sports that this was just a formality for any potential NCAA issue. "It's not the NCAA. It's our compliance office. Just doing their due diligence," Brad Sutton of SMU said in a statement. "We don't expect to find anything amiss, but it's our responsibility to check stuff like this out."

The meeting between Deion Sanders Jr. and Lil' Wayne came to the world's attention when the former tweeted a photo **https://twitter.com/DeionSandersJr/status/368789646190202880 of himself, the rapper and his friends after a concert.
