"Divergent" is one of the most anticipated movies of the upcoming year. The official first look at footage from the film, opening on March 21, 2014, will air during the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (Aug. 25).

Until then, an infographic showing the "Divergent" factions may pass the time.

In the story of "Divergent," a future version of Chicago is divided into five factions, each determined by dominant personality traits. Tris Prior ( Shailene Woodley) finds out that she is "divergent," meaning she doesn't fit into just one group. But when Tris finds that there is a conspiracy that will destroy all Divergents, she needs to find out why being divergent is dangerous -- before it is too late.

The infographic gives a brief explanation for each of the five factions. "Dauntless" is made up of the bravest members of society. "Abnegation" is reserved for the selfless. Those who value peace and cooperation are members of "Amity." "Erudite," meanwhile, values intelligence more than any other trait. Finally, "Candor" is the home of honesty.

Directed by Neil Burger and based on the young-adult novel by Veronica Roth, the film stars Woodley, Theo James, Jai Cortney, Ray Stevenson, Zoe Kravitz, Miles Teller, Maggie Q, Tony Goldwyn, Ashley Judd, Ansel Elgort, Mekhi Phifer, Ben Lamb, Ben Lloyd-Hughes, Christian Madsen, Amy Newbold and Kate Winslet.
