Two of The Dish Rag's favorite ladies, Drew Barrymore and Wanda Sykes will be honored at the 21st annual Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation Media Awards (GLAAD) is Los Angeles on April 17.
Barrymore will receive the Vanguard Award, given to media professionals who have increased the visibility and understanding of the LGBT community.
Barrymore recently played the lesbian daughter of a widower ( Robert De Niro) in "Everybody's Fine," which is also nominated for a GLAAD Media award, and in 1995 she starred in "Boys on the Side" which won the Outstanding Film award at the 7th Annual GLAAD awards. Did we mention Barrymore's amazing performance in HBO's "Grey Gardens," which was not a gay role, but it was magnificent so we just thought we'd throw that in there.
