Duchess Kate and Prince William dress up and step out for conservation gala

The former Kate Middleton has been spotted out shopping, and she and William attended an event near their home in Anglesey, Wales, a couple of weeks ago.

Still, the first night out without the baby is a milestone for new parents, and Kate and William went big for theirs. The duke and duchess of Cambridge attended the Tusk Conservation Awards in London Thursday night (Sept. 12), with Kate wearing a sparkly Jenny Packham dress and William sporting a tuxedo.

The prince is a patron of the Tusk Trust, which supports wildlife conservation in Africa. The awards Thursday honored people who have made significant contributions in the field.

Take a look at a few more pics of William and Kate on their night out.
