Eddie Cibrian injured on 'Playboy Club' set hours after cancellation

eddie-cibrian-playboy-club.jpgIn a case of adding injury to insult, "The Playboy Club" star Eddie Cibrian was injured on the show's set Tuesday night (Oct. 4) -- a few hours after NBC canceled the series.

Cibrian sustained a deep cut on his right heel after his foot was caught in a steel door on set in Chicago, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Although the show has been pulled from NBC, "The Playboy Club" was slated to stay in production through the end of this week. Imagine Television and 20th Century Fox TV, which produce the series, are hoping to find another home for it, the Sun-Times says.

Barring that, more completed episodes would at least make a heftier home-video product.

It's been a rough week for Cibrian all around. On Monday, a suspected drunk driver crashed into the Los Angeles house he shares with wife LeAnn Rimes and his children. No one was injured.
