Elvis monkey, psychedelic gecko discovered in Asia

elvis-monkey-comparison.jpgDon't be cruel. A new species of monkey discovered in Vietnam isn't exactly attractive, but it bears a striking resemblance to dearly departed rock idol Elvis Presley.

The snub-nosed monkey was found in Myanmar's Kachin state where locals, according to the U.K.'s Telegraph, say it can be found with its head between its knees when it rains in an attempt to keep rain from running into its upturned nose.

Also discovered:

-- A colorful gecko with bright orange legs, a yello neck, blue-gray body and yellow bars discovered on an island in southern Vietnam.

-- A lizard that reporduces via cloning rather than reproduction.

-- A fish that resembles a gherkin (kind of like a cucumber).

-- And five new species of carnivorous pitcher plants, some of which eat rats and birds. Mmmmm!
