Eric Bana cast as Elvis in Cary Elwes' 'Elvis & Nixon'

elvis-eric-bana.jpg Eric Bana is taking on a hunk instead of a hulk. Variety reports he is set to play singing legend Elvis Presley in the new movie "Elvis & Nixon," which is inspired by the true event of Elvis traveling to the White House to meet Nixon in 1970.

Cary Elwes, of "The Princess Bride," was so intrigued by the meeting between two such famous figures that he chose this event as his first effort in writing and directing a movie. Danny Huston has been cast as President Nixon.

Elvis has been on the big screen numerous times. He was in many, many movies himself and has been played by, among others, Kurt Russell, Don Johnson and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers. Our favorite was the little-known Dale Midkiff from the TV movie "Elvis and Me."

What do you think, Elvis fans? Will Eric Bana make a good King?
