Erin Brockovich mug shot: Drunk boat-driving does not make for a good photo

Erin Brockovich does not have a nice mug shot. Taken after her arrest on Friday (June 7) for drunk driving her boat, the woman once played on film by Julia Roberts does not look her best.

The arrest photo, released by the Clark County Detention Center, shows a distinctly sunburned and disheveled Brockovich. Although not smiling, she at least does not have the angry frown worn by many during an arrest.

After a breath test showed more than twice the legal limit for intoxication while operating a motor vehicle, Brockovich-Ellis was arrested. Police later released her on $1000 bail.

The legal celebrity later released a statement via TMZ, apologizing and explaining her actions on Friday:

"I apologize for my actions Friday evening. After a day in the sun and with nothing to eat it appears that a couple of drinks had a greater impact than I had realized. It is very important to note that I was not operating the boat in open waters, I was moving it within its own slip. At no time was the boat away from the dock and there was no public safety risk. That being said, I take drunk driving very seriously, this was clearly a big mistake, I know better and I am very sorry."
