Can't get enough 'Sex and the City?' Get ready for 'The Women!'

Finally, the trailer of "The Women" is out.

And is it just me or does this chick flick look, sound and feel a LOT like the "Sex and the City" movie?

The opening sequence with the swooping Manhattan-from-above shot, the girls sitting around the lunch table, the exaggerated facial expressions, the brightly colored campy overdone clothing? I swear I saw some Manolos too!

No coincidence this trailer started playing with the "SATC" movie this weekend. Think the studio is purposely going for the "SATC" GG rating (girls and gays)? Sure feels like it to me.

This film is a remake of Claire Booth Luce's play and the 1939 George Cukor film with Norma Shearer, Joan Crawford, Rosalind Russell, Paulette Goddard, Joan Fontaine, and more.

In fact, there's a pretty good chance that film may have been an inspiration for "SATC." And, ironically, a 2001 revival of the play (which appeared on PBS' "Stage on Screen" series )actually included "SATC" alum Cynthia Nixon as Mary Haines, the role played by Meg Ryan in this new version.

But even without Nixon, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis, the film has its share of dithery sweet and/or acerbic, self-obsessed females, including Ryan, Annette Bening, Eva Mendes, Debra Messing, Bette Midler, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Debi Mazur, Joanna Gleason, Carrie Fisher, Candace Bergen and Cloris Leachman.

My question is how on Earth did they get Debra's and Meg's hair so BIG? Bet we'll be seeing a frizzy-hair trend with products to help achieve that wild and wavy "Women" look.
