Former 'Idol' contestant Luke Edgemon joins 'Glee'; 'Hollywood Week' kicks off in L.A.

Former "American Idol" contestant Luke Edgemon will appear on Fox's other uber-popular show, "Glee", as a member of the Dalton Academy's Warblers. Edgemon auditioned several times for "Idol" before making it to Hollywood Week in Season 9. [American Idol]

Rejoice, "Idol" fans! Sources say more than 200 hopefuls (more than previous seasons due to the age limit being knocked down to 15) are in Los Angeles as the show's "Hollywood Week" kicks off Dec. 6. The contestants are rumored to be staying in a Pasadena hotel and performing at an nearby arena. New judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez timed their schedules along with returning judge Randy Jackson and host Ryan Seacrest to be there for the two-week long process. [Too Fab]

Carrie Underwood was selected by CMT as one of their Artists of the Year. Underwood performed a medley of her recent hits "Cowboy Casanova", "Temporary Home" and "Undo It" at the event on Dec. 4, which included a video message from Ryan Seacrest, a presentation from Randy Travis and and introduction by Smokey Robinson. Adam Lambert's 5-song EP "Acoustic Live!" was released today and has already cracked iTunes' Top 10 Albums, sitting pretty at no. 8. The EP includes stripped down live versions of "Whataya Want From Me", "Soaked", "Aftermath", "Music Again" and "Mad World". [MJ's Big Blog]
