Gabrielle Union, Judd Hirsch and more actors book pilots for 2012

hirsch-union-casting.jpgTV vet Judd Hirsch has signed on to the CBS untitled comedy written by Ben Falcone and Larry Dorf. The show centers on a man who loses everything in the real estate collapse and moves back in with his parents. Hirsch will play his dad. "1600 Penn" has also added Andre Holland to the White House comedy starring Bill Pullman as the President of the United States. Holland will play the Press Secretary. [ Deadline]

"Pan Am's" Karine Vanasse has been cast in a guest-starring role in "Scruples," the pilot chronicling the world of a rich and powerful clothing designer. Her role on "Scruples" has the option to turn into a regular if the show is picked up for series and if "Pan Am" does not return. [ The Hollywood Reporter]

The CW's DC comics show "Arrow" has added two new stars - Paul Blackthorne as Dr. Quentin Lance, the father of Oliver Queen's love interest Laurel ( Katie Cassidy), and Jamey Sheridan as Oliver father's Robert Queen. Susanna Thompson has been cast as his wife Moira. [ Deadline]

Showtime's "Ray Donovan" starring Liev Schreiber as the title character, a "fixer" for wealthy Los Angelites has added a trio of actors - Johnathon Schaech, Kerris Dorsey and Ambyr Childers. Schaech has been cast as a movie star, Dorsey is Ray's daughter and Childers is a starlet under Ray's protection. [ Hollywood Reporter]

"First Cut," the CW's medical drama pilot about a new female doctor working at a hospital has added Aja Naomi King and Justin Hartley as a pair of surgical interns. [ Deadline]

Gabrielle Union has been cast as the titular lead in BET's drama "Single Black Female," which centers around an Atlanta-based woman who is the host of an "Ellen DeGeneres"-like talk show. [ Deadline]
