'Game of Thrones,' 'Luck': HBO teases 2012 in 'Boardwalk Empire' premiere

luck-hbo-teaser.jpgThe first teaser for Season 2 of "Game of Thrones" aired Sunday night, and ... there's no footage from what's been filmed so far. Which doesn't mean that it doesn't have us psyched anyway.

HBO gave us a small taste of two of its upcoming shows -- "Thrones" and the horse-racing drama "Luck" -- in the run-up to "Boardwalk Empire's" premiere Sunday (Sept. 25). Both series will premiere in early 2012.

The 15-second spot is only graphics and voiceover, with the narrator intoning "The night is dark and full of terrors" before a ring of flame frames "'Game of Thrones' Season 2." We assume we'll see more in the six months or so between now and the debut of the second season, but that's not a bad place to start.

As for "Luck," the highly pedigreed drama -- created by David Milch, directed by Michael Mann, starring Dustin Hoffman -- focuses on a recently paroled organized-crime figure (Hoffman) getting back into the swing of things at the track he frequents. The series also stars Nick Nolte, Dennis Farina, Kerry Condon and Jason Gedrick.

Both teasers are below. How do they look to you?
