'Game of Thrones' premiere: Shae's Sibel Kekilli and Hot Pie's Ben Hawkey tease Season 3

In "Game of Thrones," every character counts. It's not just queens like Daenerys Targaeryen or manipulators like Varys who can bring about great change, but any small squire, orphan or soldier. That's why it was exciting to see Sibel Kekilli and Ben Hawkey on the series' Season 3 Los Angeles premiere red carpet. The two actors teased what their characters are up to in the next 10 episodes and how they'll change going forward.

Kekilli's Shae is still in King's Landing with her lover, Tyrion Lannister, despite trying to get him to leave the Westeros capital with her at the end of Season 2. She says that puts their relationship in a very tricky situation.

"The end of this second season it shows that she loves him and their feelings are real, but that means it's a weakness for Tyrion and getting dangerous more and more for her and for Tyrion," Kekilli told Zap2it. "It's getting more dangerous and she has to fight more for her position."

As for Hawkey, his character Hot Pie is currently on the run with Maisie Williams' Arya Stark and Joe Dempsie's Gendry after escaping Harrenhal. "He grows up a little bit, I think. He's more self-assured, knows himself a bit better," Hawkey said of Hot Pie.

Both Kekilli and Hawkey get to work with a new batch of actors this season -- Hawkey in particular. Hot Pie meets up with a group known as the Brotherhood Without Banners, and Hawkey got to work with actors Paul Kaye, Richard Dormer and Philip McGinley.

"I got on with Paul Kaye and Philip McGinley. They're such really fun people so that was great to meet them," he said. "Paul Kaye, I've been a fan of him for a really long time. He used to do a great sketch show so I like him, yeah."

Kekilli wouldn't go into too much detail about Shae's future, but she said she was glad to continue getting scenes with people like Peter Dinklage and Lena Headey.

"I was lucky, I had some scenes of course with Peter -- with Tyrion -- and with Lena," she said. In terms of actors she'd like to get a chance to work with, Kekilli said, "I like Oona [Chaplin] very, very much. I would like to act with her."

"Game of Thrones" returns to HBO on March 31 at 9 p.m. ET.
