Geoff Stults signs up for 'Enlisted' pilot at FOX plus more casting news

geoff-stults-enlisted-gi.jpg Geoff Stults will try to break a string of one-and-done shows on FOX with a comedy pilot from one of the creators of "Cougar Town."

Stults, who's coming off a recurring part on the canceled "Ben and Kate," will star in "Enlisted" from "Cougar Town" co-creator Kevin Biegel. The show follows three brothers stationed at a small Army base in Florida; Stults will play one of them, a sergeant recently sent home from Afghanistan after punching a superior officer.

Prior to "Ben and Kate," Stults starred in the short-lived "Bones" spinoff "The Finder." His other credits include "October Road" and "Happy Town."

More pilot casting:

- Ramon Rodriguez, who played Bosley in ABC's "Charlie's Angels" last season, will star in FOX's drama "Gang Related." He'll play a San Francisco gang member who infiltrates the city's police force and finds himself caught between the two cultures. The show comes from "Fast & Furious" writer Chris Morgan, who's executive producing with Scott Rosenbaum ("Chuck," "The Shield") and others.

- Also at FOX, John Ortiz ("Luck") will star with Greg Kinnear in "Rake." The drama focuses on a high-profile, hard-living defense lawyer played by Kinnear. Ortiz will play his long-time friend and law partner, who's much more down-to-earth and reliable.

- NBC's Sean Hayes pilot has added Thomas Lennon ("Reno 911," "Bad Teacher") to its cast. The show is about a single father raising a teenage girl while also dealing with his prickly new boss at work, played by Lennon.
