Yet another piece of the "Boy Meets World" update is in place: William Daniels, who played Cory's teacher in the original show, will return in the role of Mr. Feeny in "Girl Meets World." The updated version of the '90s classic will air on The Disney Channel.

The premiere episode went into production this week, and the cast -- which includes Ben Savage as Cory, Danielle Fishel as Topanga and Rowan Blanchard as their daughter, Riley -- wasted no time in tweeting out photos of the excitement. One of the photos featured Daniels with Maitland Ward (who played Rachel on the original series), standing in what appeared to be a classroom set.

Now, TVLine is reporting that this wasn't just a brief visit from an old friend. Daniels will instead return to the role of Mr. Feeny, at least for the pilot episode. It's unclear (and no one on "Girl Meets World" is saying) if Daniels' role is planned as a one-time deal, a recurring role or a regular part. But whatever the case, Mr. Feeny will indeed be back.

"Boy Meets World" ran from 1993 to 2000 on ABC and chronicled the adolescence and young adulthood of its main characters. In the show's finale, Cory and Topanga -- sweethearts throughout much of the show -- got married. "Girl Meets World" will focus on their young daughter, Riley, in the present day.
