'Girls,' 'Looking' will switch nights to avoid Super Bowl Sunday

The network is making sure "Girls" and "Looking" won't suffer as all eyes are on the Broncos and Seahawks in MetLife Stadium. HBO instead moved the new episodes to a much-less crowded evening: the night before.

The fifth episode of "Girls" Season 3 and the third episode of "Looking" Season 1 will air Saturday, Feb. 1. The two comedies will still air at their normal times, 10 and 10:30 p.m. ET, respectively. They'll follow a repeat of "True Detective," which will be taking the week off altogether.

The move echoes HBO's actions last year, when it pushed "Girls" off Super Bowl Sunday as well.
