'Glee': Brittany and Santana make us cry, Finn and Quinn are on, plus, is Sam gay?

glee-landslide-santana-brit.jpgOn the first season of "Glee," Brittany and Santana mostly hovered in the background as occasional comic relief. This season, their stories have been explored more deeply, but never so much as in the March 8 episode, "Sexy." Sex ed teacher Holly Holiday ( Gwyneth Paltrow) forced Brittany and Santana to address their feelings for each other... through song, of course.

Santana ( Naya Rivera) chose "Landslide" to express her true feelings for Brittany ( Heather Morris). The song, about re-examining life choices, fit the situation perfectly: "I've been 'fraid of changing, because I built my life around you."

We cried as they sang, and we don't care who knows it. For a character like Santana, who is usually all about insults and eye-rolls, to bare her emotions so completely really got to us. Just don't use the word "sapphic" to describe her, as Rachel did. "Just because I sang a song with Brittany doesn't mean you can put a label on me. Is that clear?"

Later, we got even deeper into Santana's psyche when she came clean to Brittany about her feelings. "What I realized is why I'm such a bitch all the time," she says. "I'm a bitch because I'm angry. I'm angry because I have all of these feelings, feelings for you, that I'm afraid of dealing with, because I'm afraid of dealing with the consequences."

Um, we hope she's not going to stop, well... being a bitch. We love her anger.

Finally, she said the words we'd been waiting for. "I'm so afraid of what everyone will say behind my back. Still, I have to accept that I love you. I love you and I don't want to be with Sam or Finn or any of those other guys. I just want you. Please say you love me back. Please."

This whole time, we figured Brittany had been secretly pining for Santana, so we were shocked when Brittany very, very gently let her BFF down. "If Artie and I were to ever break up and I'm lucky enough that you're still single, I'm so yours," she says.

Ouch. So where does this leave Santana's boyfriend, Sam? It appears they're still on, though they've joined the celibacy club, so we're not sure what these two are going to do in their spare time anymore. glee-landslide.jpg

There have been rumors that Sam may turn out to be gay since before Chord Overstreet was even cast. His open-minded attitude toward homosexuality was stressed as his character was introduced. When Brittany and Santana finished singing to each other, Sam turned to Artie and quipped, "Pretty cool that our girlfriends are such good friends, right? I wish we were that close."

Awkward. Still, we don't think Sam is gay... we think he's just a little oblivious to the serious girl-love happening right under his nose. We could be wrong, though. Stranger things have happened. Sound off in the comments section on all the sexuality revelations.

Speaking of relationship issues, it seems that Finn and Quinn are officially back on, despite the fact that we're not sure Finn has the skills to make hickeys in the shape of balloon animals like Puck. Finn expresses some concern that Quinn's just in it for his Prom King status, but she says that her feelings are genuine. "You should've been my first," she says.

Um, you also shouldn't have pretended he got you pregnant via hot-tub. But whatever.
