'Glee' soundtracks all over the charts

glee-soundtracks-290.jpgGleeks cannot get enough of the "Glee" soundtracks -- part I has been certified Gold in three countries and part II is well on its way.

"Glee, The Music: Volume 1" entered Billboard's Top 200 Album Chart at #4 when it was released on November 3. Five weeks later, it is being certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. Gold signifies the album has sold over 500,000 units. "Volume I" has also been certified Gold in Australia and Canada.

"Glee, The Music: Volume 2" was released Tuesday, Dec. 8 and is currently sitting at #1 on iTunes, #1 on Amazon and #4 on Barnes & Noble. Between the two soundtracks, the "Glee" cast has 15 singles in the Top 200 on iTunes. Individual singles from the show have sold over 3.4 million downloads since the debut episode.

Coming on the heels of "Glee's" highest ratings to date and an especially good showing in the 18-49 demo, we'd say FOX has a certified hit on its hands. We hope the lag between the fall finale and the return in April only fuels the fandom and doesn't hurt the show.
