'Glee' star Chris Colfer humble about future on the show, possible spin-off

Two weeks shy of the Season 3 premiere -- and his big night as an Emmy nominee -- "Glee" star Chris Colfer opened up about his perpetually up-in-the-air future on the series.

Depending on what week you checked his status, Colfer is either graduating from the series, moving on to a spin-off or sticking around for a fourth season. He tried to clear the air on "The Tonight Show."

"People forget that Glee is still a TV show," he tells Jay Leno. "For either thing to happen, people still have to watch Season 3 and the ratings have to be fantastic for the show to continue or to branch out.

"I got so good at avoiding the question," he continues, "because it's so annoying."

But that doesn't mean he won't answer it. After a little more prodding, Colfer tells Leno that he's staying on the show. So Kurt fans should feel free to rejoice until the inevitable, contradictory report.
