'Glee's' Darren Criss sings 'Teenage Dream' live at The Mint

darren-criss-teenage-dream-the-mint-video-320.jpgFans of Darren Criss got a "Glee"-ful surprise at The Mint in Los Angeles over the weekend.

The new "Glee" star whipped out an acoustic cover of Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream," the Billboard hit that was his introduction as Blaine on the FOX show.

It's hilarious to hear the crowd go wild when he sings the first few notes. Well, wouldn't you?

Criss is a songwriter, so he takes some liberties with the arrangement and he sounds great. We could do without the crowd singing along though, as much as we acknowledge the urge to do so. Really, it's about his voice. Let's not sully it.

How would you react if you stumbled onto Criss doing "Teenage Dream"?
