'Glee's' Jane Lynch and Kirsten Nelson recall their 'Psych' sisterly bond
It's "There Might Be Blood," the sixth episode of Season 3. In it, Jane Lynch guest-starred as Chief Vick's older sister Barbara, a commander in the Coast Guard.
"The one that's closest to me is the one with Jane Lynch, when she was my sister," says Nelson. "For me, for Kirsten and for Chief Vick, that one was so much fun. Just to have that relationship and to work with Jane."
"I was very nervous with her coming to the set," Nelson continues, "because she's so funny and she's such a grounded and talented comedian. I didn't know if I was going to be able to keep up with her. I was very nervous about that. But she was so gracious. We kept each other on our toes really well, that was a fun relationship that was started there."
Lynch echoes those sentiments, telling Zap2it that she had a blast with the cast, even if they were in rainy Vancouver, where "Psych" shoots. "There's something really special about shooting in Vancouver," says Lynch. "There's a laid-back quality that is so liberating for creative types. And it was full blown for the fabulously funny cast of 'Psych.' I also loved the contrast of pretending to be in sunny Santa Barbara whilst it poured rain in Vancouver."
"Psych" is airing its final five episodes over the next month, starting with Nelson's first turn behind the camera in "1967: A Psych Odyssey," airing Wednesday (Feb. 26) at 9 p.m. ET/PT on USA.
