'Golden Boy' will stay on Tuesdays as 'Vegas' moves to Friday
That also means a new home for "Vegas," which had been scheduled to return to its Tuesday home next week. The show will move into "Golden Boy's" intended spot, 9 p.m. ET Fridays, starting April 5.
The late change, however, means that CBS will still air a new "Golden Boy" episode this Friday (March 8). There's no word yet on what CBS will plug into the 9 p.m. slot on March 15.
The delayed return for "Vegas" is due to CBS' coverage of the NCAA men's basketball tournament, which will eat up all of primetime on March 22 and 29.
CBS had initially scheduled "Golden Boy" for a two-week run behind its powerful "NCIS" duo before moving it to Friday nights starting this week. In those two Tuesday broadcasts, the show starring Theo James and Chi McBride has averaged just under 10 million viewers and a 1.7 rating among adults 18-49 (DVR numbers for the two episodes haven't been added yet).
That's lower than "Vegas," which averaged 13.4 million viewers and a 2.3 demo rating in the same-day Nielsens for its first two episodes. For the season, it's averaging 12.8 million viewers and a 2.2 among adults 18-49 -- numbers that "Golden Boy" could approach when its Live +7 ratings come in.
