Grammys 2012: LL Cool J, Grammy host with the most?

grammys-ll-cool-j.jpgFor the first time in seven years, the annual Grammy Awards ceremony had a host. That host took the form of rapper/actor LL Cool J who just so happens to star in one of CBS' (the network that aired the telecast's) shows.

Still, it was a good choice. The guy isn't controversial and controversy was the last thing the show needed coming just one day after the death of Whitney Houston, who was found dead on Saturday in a Beverly Hills hotel room.

LL Cool J (real name James Todd Smith) started off the evening by leading the assembled musicians and fans in a prayer in honor of Houston. But maybe because of the somber tone, LL didn't go for laughs in his intro and when he did appear it was just to quickly introduce presenters, like Diana Ross, who he credited with giving him his first job.

What do you think? Did LL do good or should the show go back to its old, host-less format?
