According to the Hollywood Reporter, "Deathly Hallows Part 2" earned $926 million over the weekend, enough to reach the milestone.

'Deathly Hallows 2' is only the ninth movie in history to reach that target, the others are "Avatar," "Titanic," "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King," "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," "Toy Story," "The Dark Knight," "Alice in Wonderland" and "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."

Only one movie, according to THR, has grossed more than $2 billion: James Cameron's "Avatar."
