Former Playboy bunny and "Girl Next Door" Holly Madison revealed plans to eat her placenta on her blog. The showgirl wrote that, following the birth of her child, she wants to have the placenta turned into pills she can take. She's heard that taking the pills helps in recovering from giving birth quicker.

Madison is hardly the first person to consider the idea, and not even the first Hollywood mom to discuss it. "Mad Men" star January Jones talked about taking placenta pills, following the birth of her son Xander in 2011. The actress said the idea was suggested to her by a labor coach, and she was hesitant at first. However, she decided to work them into her diet, and suggested other moms do the same, saying, "We're the only mammals who don't ingest our own placentas."

Madison's child with boyfriend Pasquale Rotella, a Las Vegas party promoter, is due in March.
