'Homeland' Season 3 trailer: Brody is on the run trying to 'survive'
Showtime rolled out the trailer for "Homeland" Season 3 just in time for the series' TCA press day. In the cryptic new teaser, Nick Brody can be heard and not seen, which could be a sign of how the upcoming season plays out following his disappearance at the end of Season 2.
In the trailer, Brody says suspicious things like, "Does Carrie know I'm here?," "I just need to get my strength back," and "Survive." One translation of Brody's Arabic at the end of the trailer is, "I am a Muslim lost in this world, help me come clean again." Could Brody turn back to his old ways now that he's on the run from the country he hails from? The man likely isn't in the most stable mental condition, so it wouldn't be too surprising if he did turn back to the religion that gave him such comfort. After all, the synopsis for Season 3 reads:
"'Homeland' Season 3 opens during the aftermath of the horrific terror attack that decimated the U.S. intelligence apparatus, and prompted a global manhunt for the world's most wanted terrorist -- Nick Brody ( Damian Lewis). As Carrie ( Claire Danes) and Saul ( Mandy Patinkin) begin to pick up the pieces of their shattered professional and personal lives, they are swept up in the political and media firestorm surrounding the terror attack and the subsequent search for Brody's whereabouts."
"Homeland" returns for Season 3 on July 29.
