'Hunger Games' casts Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth: What do you think?

hunger-games-trio-getty.jpgIt's time to weigh in, "Hunger Games" fans, because the core triangle has officially been cast according to a Lionsgate press release. Joining Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss are Josh Hutcherson (18) as Peeta and Liam Hemsworth (21) as Gale.

"The Hunger Games" is based on the trilogy of novels by Suzanne Collins. Katniss is a teenager who volunteers to represent her district in the Games, a battle-to-the-death between 24 teenagers.

While they're not quite what we pictured, there's no denying that these are three talented actors. Lawrence, who is 20 years old, was nominated for the coveted Best Actress Academy Award this year for her performance in "Winter's Bone." Hutcherson's role as Laser in "The Kids Are All Right" was critically acclaimed. Even Hemsworth surprised us as the romantic lead in "The Last Song."

What are your thoughts on the casting? Do they fit the characters you imagined? Who would you have rather seen in the roles? Give us your two cents in the comments section below.
