'Hunger Games: Catching Fire' casting: Philip Seymour Hoffman offered Plutarch Heavensbee role

Heavensbee only appears briefly in the book version of "Catching Fire," but as with Wes Bentley's Caesar Flickerman in the first film, the role may be expanded for the movie.

As the head gameskeeper of the Quarter Quell Hunger Games, Caesar oversees the entire event -- but he's definitely got some tricks up his sleeve. He'll feature even more prominently in the third installment, "Mockingjay."

As of right now, Hoffman has not accepted or turned down the role. Production begins this fall and filming will likely move from Wilmington, NC to Atlanta, Georgia.
