The announcement that Sir Ian McKellen is teaming up with director Bill Condon for "A Slight Trick of the Mind" came as a delight to many. McKellen will play a retired Sherlock Holmes, who lives with his detective son.

McKellen himself is excited about the movie, after working with Condon once before in 1998's "Gods and Monsters." When news of the movie was announced, the actor tweeted "Working again with Bill Condon? Playing Sherlock Holmes? Elementary. Couldn't be happier."

The film is looking to shoot in April 2014 in the UK, with no other casting announced yet. Currently McKellen is working on "X-Men: Days of Future Past." He's also got the next two installments of "The Hobbit. Condon's new movie  "The Fifth Estate" is due in theaters October 18.
