Jamie Foxx teases Electro as 'Amazing Spider-Man' sequel villain

Variety reports the Oscar-winning actor will likely play Electro in the sequel, a role teased by both the end credits of the summer 2012 film and Foxx himself on Twitter. "Dressed up as Electro for Halloween last night. Costume fits well," Foxx tweeted today.

Electro is the uber-villain alias of criminal Max Dillon, who gains the ability to control electricity after a freak lightning accident.

Spidey star Andrew Garfield and director Marc Webb are already committed to reprising their gigs for the sequel and Variety says leading lady Emma Stone is firmly on board as well. Shailene Woodley remains likely to play a supporting role as Peter Parker's famed love interest Mary Jane Watson.

After a period of relative quiet, Foxx is going through a bit of a career resurgence. He stars in Quentin Tarantino's December release "Django Unchained" and plays the U.S. President under siege in next summer's "White House Down."
