Janet Jackson's Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction with Justin Timberlake turns 10 years old

That event launched a term into our collective vocabulary that can be seen dozens of times each year: Wardrobe malfunction.

That was the explanation for what happened with Jackson and Timberlake, for which the FCC tried to levee a half-million fine against CBS (though that was later overturned in an appellate court). The FCC did, however, raise its indecency fine from $27,500 to $325,000 in the wake of "nipplegate" and the NFL declared that MTV would never again be involved in another halftime show.

Something tells us we won't have to worry about Bruno Mars at Super Bowl XLVIII.

Since the infamous Jackson incident happened, there have been too many wardrobe malfunctions to count. Heck, Nicki Minaj even Instagrams her own nip-slips, so we've certainly come a long way since 2004.
