Jenni Rivera confirmed dead by brother following plane crash

Jenni Rivera's brother, Gustavo, has confirmed his sister's death after she went missing in a plane crash in northern Mexico. She was 43.

According to what Gustavo told CNN, authorities alerted him and his family that there were no survivors in the crash. The Learjet plane Rivera was traveling on crashed in the mountains of northern Mexico after the pilot lost contact. There were six people on board: Rivera, her publicist, her lawyer, a friend of the family and the plane's two pilots. Gustavo told CNN that he planned to fly to Mexico today to identify his sister's remains.

Rivera had a reality show on the Telemundo cable channel mun2 called "I Love Jenni." The Mexican American singer and television personality had recently signed on to star in an ABC comedy pilot called "Jenni," which featured her as a single Latina mother running a family business. She is survived by five children and two grandchildren.
