Joe Walsh endorses Joe Walsh's opponent in Congressional race

joe-walsh-gi.jpg Joe Walsh, the six-time Grammy Award-winning rocker and member of rock supergroup the Eagles, is endorsing Tammy Duckworth, a candidate running against Illinois Republican... Joe Walsh.

Here's what happened: The rocker, who describes himself as "the real Joe Walsh," is endorsing Duckworth -- a Democratic candidate for Congress from Illinois who is trying to keep Joe Walsh, Republican, from serving another term in Washington.

Walsh (the rocker) says his endorsement has nothing to do with the name thing.

"I sincerely believe that she is the real thing," Walsh tells The Associated Press. "I'm frustrated with Congress in that they're not getting very much done and I'm frustrated to the point where I think people should start paying attention to who's in Congress."

Walsh (the rocker) is from Illinois and plans to hold a fundraiser for Duckworth, an Iraq war veteran who lost both her legs in a rocket propelled grenade attack, there in July.

Walsh (the Republican) isn't worried, calling the endorsement a stunt.

"Is anyone really surprised when Tammy gets support from the liberal entertainment industry?" his campaign said in a statement. "Tammy can have the support of the 'Hotel California' liberal elite, Congressman Walsh is more concerned with getting the support of hard working families from the 8th district."
