John Legend replaces Lionel Richie on 'Duets'; 'NCIS' star David McCallum returning next season

- John Legend is joining ABC's summer singing competition "Duets," taking over for Lionel Richie, who left the show for unspecified reasons. Legend joins fellow stars Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Nettles and Robin Thicke in looking for undiscovered singers worthy of sharing the stage with them. It premieres May 24. [ ABC]

- ABC has also added another unscripted series to its summer lineup: "The Glass House," a "Big Brother"-esque show in which 14 contestants try to win $250,000 by winning over viewers. The audience will be able to vote for their favorite players, in addition to helping decide some of the activities the contestants undertake. [ ABC]

- David McCallum will return to "NCIS" next season after signing a new two-year deal with producer CBS TV Studios. The veteran actor's contract was set to expire after this season. Three other series regulars -- Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette and Sean Murray -- are still talking with the studio. [ Deadline]

- Teri Hatcher has lined up her first job after "Desperate Housewives" -- both in front of and behind the camera. She's joining ABC Family's "Jane by Design" in a recurring part as Jane's (Erica Dasher) long-lost mother and will also make her directorial debut on an episode in Season 2. [ ABC Family]

- "Murphy Brown" in 2012? It could happen, according to the creator of the Emmy-winning series, which ran from 1988-98. Diane English says she's talking with CBS about reviving the show for a few specials that would have Murphy ( Candice Bergen) commenting on the presidential race. [ TV Guide]
