Jon Stewart returns to 'The Daily Show' and tackles Syria

jon-stewart-returns-the-daily-show.jpg Jon Stewart made his triumphant return to "The Daily Show" Tuesday (Sept. 3), though we will say (and Stewart did say) that replacement John Oliver did a great job this summer as the host.

But to kick things off, Oliver had to first enlist the help of Stephen Colbert to snap Stewart back into his old self, as he ran the gauntlet of alter-egos that included Hitler, a smurf, Larry the Cable Guy, Miley Cyrus at the VMAs and a couch potato sporting the beard of "a 90-year-old prospector."

The top-of-the-hour jokes included a jab at Stewart's known friend Anthony Weiner, a.k.a. "Carlos Danger," and also Oliver saying good luck to Stewart having to cover the horrific things happening in Syria and the White House's imminent response.

In fact, Stewart's first guest back was Andrew Harper, the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees representative in Jordan. The B segment was an interesting take on Syria and the interview was also a good piece.

Video below in case you missed it. What did you think of Stewart's return to "The Daily Show"?
