Justin Bieber NOT headed to rehab; George Clooney called to testify in Berlusconi trial

bieber-greyhoodie-getty.jpgJustin Bieber not headed to rehab: At least not yet. As pointed out by Entertainment Weekly, Reuters stretched a bit far with this headline: " Justin Bieber headed for rehab: opinion poll." Apparently, this was based on a "60 Minutes"/Vanity Fair poll in which 30 percent of respondents said they expect the Bieb to be in celebrity rehab when he's 30. No doubt the Bieb is suffering from guilt by association -- because of the great examples set by some of his tween sensation predecessors, it's assumed he'll self destruct, smoke salvia, drop his last name or knock around Hollywood wearing a pink wig. But we think the Bieb should be given more credit than that. [ Reuters via EW]

Clooney for the defense: Why was George Clooney called to testify -- for the defense -- in the trial of Italian premier Silvio Berlusconi? Apparently because the Moroccan teenager with whom Berlusconi is accused of having improper relations once said that she saw Clooney and his girlfriend, Elisabetta Canalis, at one of Berlusconi's parties. "We want to see if they confirm this fact or not," said attorney Piersilvio Cipollotti. In February, Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera published a denial from Canalis, who said she and Clooney had never attended one of Berlusconi's parties. [ Huffington Post]

Professor Franco: Although he's already agreed to teach a class a Columbia College Hollywood ("Editing James Franco with James Franco"), the prolific, multi-faceted actor has reportedly agreed to teach a graduate film course at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. The topic, it turns out, is not how to host the Oscars, but how to adapt poems into short films. The 32-year-old actor, who is on track to receive his own MFA in film production from the school this May, can add his teaching duties to an ever-expanding list of projects: movies, soap opera cameos, tweeting, etc. [ THR]
