Justin Bieber's 'Believe' is the biggest debut of the year

justin-bieber-believe-album-cover.jpg Justin Bieber is only 18, but he proves yet again that he's a music heavyweight with the release of his latest album, "Believe." The new disc will debut on the Billboard 200 chart at No. 1, selling 374,000 copies in its first week.

That makes the Biebs' fourth No. 1 album (joining "My World 2.0," "Never Say Never: The Remixes" and "Under the Mistletoe"). According to Nielsen SoundScan, "Believe" is the biggest-selling debut of the year. It's not the biggest-selling week of the year -- Adele sold 730,000 copies of 2011's "21" after her Grammy domination -- but it's pretty impressive nonetheless.

Behind Bieber were three other debuts, Kenny Chesney's "Welcome to the Fishbowl" at No. 2, Fiona Apple's "The Idler Wheel is Wiser..." at No. 3, and the Smashing Pumpkins' "Oceania" at No. 4, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Bieber hits the road in support of the album in September, playing 45 cities in four months.
