Karina Smirnoff expects Maksim Chmerkovskiy 'Forever Tango' reunion to be 'passionate'
"You know, I'm excited," Smirnoff tells Zap2it. "Because I think we have so much history, personal and professional, together that it's only going to bring out more passion on the floor. And tango allows for the dance to have a lot of passion, controversy -- it's about life, death, hatred. So, it's intensity, yeah. it's going to be interesting either way."
Karina was set to fly to New York the next morning to reunite with Maks and begin rehearsals for their three-week run. "I can't wait," she says. "I think we both truly are looking forward to working together on the biggest stage in the world, doing one of our favorite dances ever."
Smirnoff and Chmerkovskiy performed on Broadway together previously in "Burn the Floor." The pair were engaged briefly in 2009 before going thorugh a very public breakup later that same year. Chmerkovskiy was recently rumored to be stepping out with "Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit" cover model Kate Upton.
