meryl-streep-gi.jpgEvery year, Washington, D.C.'s John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts honors several people who have contributed great things to the arts.

Who are this year's honorees?

For starters, the inimitable Meryl Streep gets her due for acting. Singer/songwriter Neil Diamond, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, singer Barbara Cook and saxophonist/composer Sonny Rollins all will be honored for their contributions to music.

The ceremony takes place Sunday, Dec. 4, but the gala won't be broadcast until Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 9 p.m. on CBS.

In honor of the five recipients' great work, check out videos of some of their best work.
