Kevin Ware holds trophy in the hospital, up and around on crutches

kevin-ware-holds-trophy-louisville.jpgKevin Ware, sophomore guard for the University of Louisville, suffered a gruesome compound fracture during Sunday's (March 31) Elite Eight game against Duke. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where surgery to repair his leg was successful Sunday evening.

His teammates had to soldier on without him, but they brought Ware some good news after he was in recovery -- they beat Duke and are headed to their second consecutive Final Four. Above is Ware posing with the trophy from the team's victory.

Teammate Peyton Siva posted the photo, along with, "My guy @billionairebev w the trophy... #rp @im_basedking ... Lord watch over him." He also writes, "My bro @billionairebev already up walking man I love my bro strong kid...", along with the photo below.

Great to see Ware up and around. Hopefully his recovery is speedy and complete.
