Kiefer Sutherland's headbutt case dropped

Kiefersutherland_fox_290 Kiefer Sutherland is still footloose and fancy free to headbutt at will.

The  "24" actor was not prosecuted in an assault case stemming from an incident in which he allegedly headbutted a New York fashion designer in May, reports People.

Sutherland is clear in New York based on the evidence and also off the hook in Los Angeles since the headbutt may have constituted a misdemeanor assault, a violation of his probation for DUI.

The events of that fateful night in May remain fuzzy. At first it appeared that Brooke Shields was involved. Sutherland claimed he had defended her by headbutting designer Jack McCollough. Shields denied that she had anything to do with the kerfuffle.

The new season of "24" will take place in New York. Joining Sutherland as Jack Bauer are Katee Sackhoff , Freddie Prinze Jr. and Anil Kapoor, among others
