Kim Kardashian's Met Gala dress defended by designer Riccardo Tisci

kim-kardashian-met-gala-dress-robin-williams-mrs-doubtfire.jpg Kim Kardashian took part in her first Met Costume Institute Gala this week, but her floral-print gown did not receive great reviews. In fact, even actor/comedian Robin Williams panned the frock, tweeting the above photo along with the caption, "I think I wore it better!"

But Kim K. doesn't seem to be letting the criticism bother her, blogging, "Riccardo Tisci made me this gorgeous all floral Givenchy couture gown. ... This was Riccardo's vision for me, and it was breathtaking. Kanye wore a Givenchy suit as well. Xo."

And designer Riccardo Tisci tells Women's Wear Daily that he wanted to give her a romantic moment with her dress.

"[Kim] is a really good friend, and I am very happy she came to the Met for the first time. I love Kim. Doing maternity was fantastic. ... Kim said, 'Ricky, I love what you're doing so much, I am in your hands.' I said, we should give her our punk moment with a romantic beautiful flower-printed dress," says Tisci.

"I have dressed many pregnant women in the past. People can say what they want. To me, pregnancy is the most beautiful thing in the world, and when you celebrate something, you give people flowers. I think she looked amazing. She was the most beautiful pregnant woman I dressed in my career."

What do you think, readers? A beautiful, romantic moment? Or like someone shot your grandmother's couch?
