Kings of Leon scrap U.S. tour; singer Caleb Followill 'exhausted'

kings-of-leon-gi.jpgKings of Leon on Monday (Aug. 1) announced the band will not play 26 upcoming dates -- the remainder of their U.S. summer tour -- because lead singer Caleb Followill is "suffering from vocal issues and exhaustion."

At a Friday concert in Dallas, Folowill disappeared from the stage and didn't return.

"I'm going to go backstage and I'm going to vomit," said Folowill before exiting the stage. "I'm going to drink a beer and I'm going to come back out and play three more songs."

After a show the following night in Houston was canceled, bassist Jared Followill tweeted, "I can't lie," he said. "There are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade."

According to the New York Times, the band's current plan is to return to the road on Sept. 28 when they are due to play in Vancouver.
