Kris Jenner trumps 9/11 moment of silence on 'Today' and NBC's not apologizing for it

kris-jenner-9-11-today-show-nbc.jpgOn Tuesday (Sept. 11) morning, while other networks were commemorating 9/11 with a moment of silence, NBC's "Today" show was airing an interview with Kardashian momager Kris Jenner talking about her breast implants.

While Jenner was reminding women to "check your expiration date" on breast implants ("I had my implants in for 152 years," she says), shows like "Good Morning America," which had Jessica Simpson co-hosting the show in its second hour, broke away from regular programming at 8:48 a.m. ET, the time that the first plane hit the World Trade Center 11 years ago.

And despite backlash, NBC spokesperson Megan Kopf says the network won't be apologizing for the perceived gaffe.

Other than the 10-year anniversary observation in 2011, "Today" has not included a moment of silence for 9/11 since 2006, Kopf tells the New York Times.

"It is not a tradition on our show," she says.

Do you think "Today" should have included the moment of silence in its broadcast?
