Lady Gaga deletes her Twitter account - sort of

Has Lady Gaga left Twitter? On Friday, the almost 39 million followers of the pop star were shocked to notice that the Mama Monster had deleted her Twitter photo and changed her bio. No clear explanation was given, although some have theorized that this is promotion for Gaga's upcoming "ARTPOP" album.

Instead of a photo on Gaga's Twitter, there is now just the infamous "Twitter egg," usually reserved for social-networking newbies who haven't uploaded any imagery yet. Will a new photo arrive shortly? That might be the case. There is also the chance that this is a reference to Lady Gaga's 2011 Grammy-arrival egg vessel. In that case, the singer was promoting her earlier album, "Born This Way."

"This interface has been shutdown temporarily. Please check back for updates."

This doesn't particularly sound like Gaga -- it's more like a robot has taken control (Skynet? Or has Twitter simply become self-aware?). On the bright side, at least this indicates that there might be more from Lady Gaga -- hopefully including an explanation -- in the future.
