Lady Gaga on 'The View': Cops to smoking pot

lady-gaga-the-view.jpg Lady Gaga who, if you haven't been paying attention, is everywhere these days took her one-woman fab-fest to "The View" on Monday (Aug. 1) when she joined Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Barbara Walters for their ever-enlightening "hot topics" segment.

While it was hard even for someone as bold as Gaga to get a word in edgewise, we did get her thoughts on a range of topics:

On the death of British singer Amy Winehouse: "The lesson was for the world to be kinder to the superstar."

On her own past drug use: "I was so embarrassed. I don't do any hard drugs anymore. I am a little part of the green club sometimes." (At that comment, Whoopi nodded in approval.)

After learning about an FDA warning about hot dogs increasing the risk of colon cancer: "I think hot dogs are just jealous that cigarettes are more controversial."

On "Project Runway's" Tim Gunn's charge that Hillary Clinton wears mannish clothes: "He's being a bully. I think Hillary Clinton has more important things to worry about than her hemline."

It's also important to point out that during the discussion of hot dogs, Elisabeth Hasselbeck shared her strict standard for what meat products she'll eat: "I only eat it if it was alive beforehand."

Noted.

Anyhow, Gaga wore a conservative (for her) suit an hat sporting a bold black and white check. She continued the theme with her note cards -- covered with the same pattern and on her face with a few checks painted around her left eye.
