Lady Gaga performing at Europride parade in Rome

lady-gaga-gay-pride-getty.jpgLady Gaga is whooping it up in Italy this weekend, joining in the annual festivities for the European gay pride parade in Rome. Gaga will take the stage and sing her anthem "Born This Way" after the parade ends Saturday night (June 11).

The "Europride" parade is held every year in a different European city. Having been in Picadilly Circus for the one held in London in 2006, we can personally attest to how much of a giant, awesome party it is.

This year, the parade will wind its way through the Rome street and end at Circus Maximus, the grassy field at the center of the city where ancient Romans gathered for entertainment. Organizers tell the AP Rome was a significant choice of venue, since it is home to Vatican City, the Catholic sovereign state that opposes same-sex marriage or adoption.

Sounds like a fun time. Hopefully there will be some video later of Lady Gaga, we'll post some if we find some.
